Robert "Bob" Allen, 89, passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2014 in Republic MO. He was born to Chester & Clara Allen on May 1, 1925, in Faulkton, SD.

Bob married Joyce Lavern Thomas on January 14, 1949. He served in the Marines from 1942-1946 in the Marshall Island. He was wounded on both Saipan and Iwo Jima Islands. He worked as a carpenter, retiring in 1991. He enjoyed fishing, crafts and reading Louis L''Amour.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years; 3 sons: Roger (Jeanne) Allen, Rick (Sherrie) Allen, Rob (Angee) Allen; daughter: Rhonda Gilbert; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 1great-great-grandson; brother: Russell Allen.

Visitation will be held Sunday, November 23 from 6-8pm at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte Chapel, 4500 S. Lone Pine, Springfield, MO. Services will be held at 11 am, Monday, November 24 in the chapel. Burial will be at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at 1pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made to the Alzheimers Association.
