Richard L. Reed, 89, of Mt. Vernon, MO went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 13, 2021.  He was born on Saturday, April 9, 1932 in Springfield, MO to Floyd and Lena Reed.

Richard was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and retired after 39 years as a Shop Foreman for the City of Springfield, MO. He enjoyed reading, Westerns and spending time with his friends and family. Richard will be missed beyond words.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of 55 years Frances and one sister Dorothy Dixon.

Richard is survived by his four children Kathleen Homsey (husband Peter), Charles Renshaw (Charise Price), Debbie Evans (husband Mark) and Randy Reed; granddaughter Tashia Warren (Dustin) and three great-grandchildren Adam, Hayden, and Richard.

A visitation will be held from 1-2 PM at the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel, 5234 W. State Hwy EE, Springfield, MO 65802 with funeral services to follow at 2 PM.
