Richard T. Johnston, 72, of Strafford, MO went home to be with his Lord on March 24, 2019. He was born on March 22, 1947 in Ottawa, KS to Ray and Myrtle (Higgins) Johnston. Richard was one of four children.

He married Margaret (Turley) in 1970 and to this union they were blessed with one son; Robert Dean. Richard served in the US Army and proudly served his county in the Vietnam War. He received 3 bronze stars for his service. Richard loved history, especially civil war history. Richard also enjoyed spending time with his family.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters; Patricia Binnall and Sheryl Puckett. Left to mourn his passing is his loving wife of 49 years, Margaret, son; Robert Dean, grandchildren; Rachel Johnston and Robert Dale Johnston, as well of a host of nieces, nephews and countless friends. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives had been touched by him.

Family is planning to hold a Service of Remembrance at a later date.
