Richard L. Greene, 83, of Aurora, CO passed away on September 2, 2013. He was born on January 22, 1930 in Shreveport, LA to Eliza Phillips and Richard Greene.

He married Etta Herndon on August 18, 1971 and her six children Linda Elliott-Brown (Martin Brown), Doris Ann Reed, Daryl Reed, Mary Herndon, Sharon Herndon and Jeffrey Herndon.

Richard served in the US Army for almost 25 years as a sergeant 1st class in the Airborne Division. His duties included service in the Korean War and the Vietnam War (3 tours), he enjoyed traveling and touring different Countries. He worked at Springfield Office Supply until retirement. He loved his vegetable garden and growing beautiful roses and tulips, old westerns, martial art movies and playing dominos and cards. Richard re-dedicated his life to the Lord at Washington Avenue Baptist Church.

Shortly after Richard became ill, he was taken care of by Ann Reed, he moved to Denver, CO in 2010 where he was taken care of by his family and son-in-law Martin Brown.

Richard is survived by his children Vivian, Ava, Richard and Lawana; his step-children; grandchildren and great grandchild.

A visitation will be held on Monday, September 9, 2013 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Klingner-Cope at White Chapel, 5234 W State Hwy EE (Division), Springfield, MO with a military graveside to be held on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 10:00 a.m.
