Richard Allen "Dick" Bryce (73) from Springfield, Missouri was born August 20, 1951 and departed on July 12, 2025. Dick was born to Joseph and Louise Bryce in Richmond, Missouri. Dick and his older brother, Michael Bryce, spent their early childhoods living in Lexington, Missouri. The family would later move between Albany, Missouri and Alexandria, Virginia. Eventually the family settled back down in Albany, where Dick graduated from Albany High School with the class of 1970. While in High School, Dick worked at his parents bowling alley and was a standout athlete in both wrestling and football. Those years spent in Albany were the foundation of many great stories Dick liked to share. Dick maintained lifelong friendships from his days living in Albany, and the annual trip back for deer camp and seeing old friends was something he always looked forward to.
Dick moved to Springfield, Missouri in 1988, working as a commercial plumber for over 25 years. In 1993, Dick married the love of his life, Wendy, and their two families were merged together as one. For the next 32 years Dick and Wendy built a life together filled with joy and happiness. They loved to travel, eat good food, and take spontaneous weekend trips together. Dick and Wendy also loved to host family and friends for BBQs, each being fantastic cooks. Nobody ever left hungry or short on laughter. Dick loved his family more than anything else and was never shy to let you know it. Dick was a dependable husband, father, and friend who was always there for you when you needed him. Dick loved being a part of everyone's stories and sharing his own, which would always put a smile on your face. Anyone who knew Dick knew instantly what a special person he was. Any illusion of gruffness was instantly peeled away by the kindness and size of his heart. Although we are all greatly saddened by his passing, Dick's memory will live on through all of us lucky enough to be a part of his amazing life.
Dick was preceded in passing by his parents; Joseph 'Papa Joe" and Louise "Nanny" Bryce, and his brother, Michael "Bubba" Bryce.
Dick is survived by his family; wife Wendy, sons; Joseph and Ryan; stepson, Anthony, stepdaughters; Michelle, Shawntelle, and Crista, nieces; Deana and Chrissy, grandchildren; Matthew, Maggie, Makayla, Cora, Eden, Iris, Ashley, Austin, Mikal, Malik, Shahn, Madison, Ariel, Makyla, Shona, and Kendall, and great-grandchildren; Aceton, Addilyn, Kylie, Bentley, Aylah, Luna, Liam, Lincoln, Espen, Brayleigh, Kaysleigh, Maverick, and Ezra.
