Richard L. Brewer of Strafford, MO. passed away peacefully at home on Saturday November 12, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.

Richard was born in Frankfort, Ohio on October 31, 1932 to Hugh L. Brewer and Jeanette T. (Blue) Brewer.  He was a devoted Son, Husband, Father, and Grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of 19 and served his country during the Korean Conflict.  The majority of his work life was spent at The Medical Center for Federal Prisoners in Springfield, MO. where he worked as a correctional counselor.  Richard loved spending time at his home in the country watching deer, fox, turkeys and other wildlife.  Enjoying the beauty of natural surroundings brought him immense peace.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Delores (Thompson) Brewer, his parents Hugh L. and Jeanette T. (Blue) Brewer, and two Brothers.

Richard is survived by his wife Christine (Andreozzi) Brewer; Daughter Elizabeth (Brewer) Hurrelbrink and husband Douglas; Son John Michael Brewer and wife Lisa; Daughter Melinda (Brewer) Paulsell and husband Steve; Granddaughters Sophie, Ellie, and Riley; Grandsons Dakota, Chad, Shane, Austin, Zach; and 2 Great Grandson and 2 Great Granddaughters.

A visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home Chapel at Rivermonte, Springfield. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 1:00 PM in the chapel. The graveside service will be held following the funeral service at Rivermonte Memorial Gardens, Springfield with full military honors.
