Richard R. Bremer, 86, of Nixa, MO went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, July 8, 2016. He was born on July 16, 1929 to Richard and Anna (Albert) Bremer.
Richard grew up during the depression on a farm in Baldwin, Illinois. He attended a one room school house and later graduated from Sparta High School. Richard loved cars since his first one, which was a 1940 Plymouth 4-door sedan. He started working at the Corvette Division at General Motors in St. Louis in 1955 and retired in 1988 .Richard enjoyed racing cars and was also a member of the United Auto Workers Union. He loved gardening (especially growing tomato plants), was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan, loved his beloved dogs Missy, Taco and Chloe. Richard was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Nixa for 17 years and loved his church family and bible studies. He especially loved his children, grandchildren and extended family and would always end his night with a bowl of ice cream.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; 2 wives, Emma (Link) who passed in 1971 and Maxine (Miller) who passed in 1999; 1 sister, Wanda Diercks and 1 brother, Clinton Bremer.
He is survived by 4 children, Denise Hesterberg (Doug), Patricia Rensing (Terry) Richard Bremer (Cheryl) and Gerald Bremer (Margaret); 4 step-daughters, Brenda Rivers (Jamie) Patricia Jones, Faye Dunke (Bob) and Kaye Kronk; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Ronald Bremer (Darlene); numerous step-great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte Chapel from 6-8 PM. Services will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Nixa, MO on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 10 AM with burial to follow in Rivermonte Memorial Gardens.
