Elder Richard A. Baker, Jr. went from labor to reward on Tuesday, December 18th, 2012 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born April 4, 1957 in Columbia, MO.
Richard leaves behind his wife, Wanda Faye Baker, 5 children, Richard Baker III, Kansas City, KS; Chris Baker, Tameka Baker, Charon & Caren Coleman of Springfield, MO; one grandson, Jaxson; his mother Mary E. Johnson, Joplin, MO; four brothers and one sister all of Joplin, MO: James (Annette) Johnson, Jeffrey Johnson, Mark (Sarah) Johnson, Kimberly Reeves, and Eric Johnson; and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephew and Cousins. He is also survived by two stepchildren Theharon & Marcia Coleman and his mother-in-law, Luciell Smith.
He was employed at Evangel College for ten years and an Elder at the Holy Ground Ministries, Springfield, MO. Richard enjoyed playing his guitar and had a love for music. He loved to make others laugh and loved his family and church.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, Richard Baker, Sr. and a sister, Dominca.
The visitation will be held Friday, December 21, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Holy Ground Ministries. The service will be Saturday, December 22nd at 2 p.m. at Faith Tabernacle, officiating will be Bishop-elect Marshawn Wilbourn and Bishop Jonas Foote.
