Our dear "Coach," Richard Charles Davies, 82, of Nixa, MO entered eternal rest on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at his home. He was born to the late Thomas Charles and Goldie Marie Davies in Moberly, MO on Thursday, October 20, 1938.

Rich received his bachelor's degree from Central Missouri State University, where he played football, basketball and threw the discus for the track team. Five years later he earned his master's degree from Northeast Missouri State University. His passion for football would follow him for 34 years as a head high school coach for several programs in Missouri: Bolivar High, Kearney High, Columbia Rockbridge, Blair Oaks High, North County High, and Nixa High School, where Rich concluded his career at retirement. Rich greatly influenced many people within these football communities, yet there is nothing that could match his faith and the love he had for his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Rich is survived by his loving wife of 57 and a half years, Joan Davies of the home, three sons Lance Davies (Cindy) of Nixa, MO, Cameron Davies (Diana) of Woodlands, TX and Ric Davies (Beth) of Springdale, AR, one daughter Julie Davies-Jones of Springfield, MO, two sisters Rosemary Bagby and Lana "Kay" Davies, six grandchildren Ryan (Amy), Jacob (Hannah), Cal, Brett, Taylor and Brandon, five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at South Gate Baptist Church, 5707 S. Farm Rd. 157, Springfield, MO 65810. We will be celebrating Rich's influence, faith and legacy.
