Obituary

Rennell Randle, 55, of Springfield, Missouri departed from us Tuesday, June 4, 2024. He was born on Tuesday, June 25, 1968 in Columbus, Mississippi to Maggie and Robert Hairston.

Rennell attended Union Academy, Joe Cook and S.D. Lee High School. He also attended Zion Gate Missionary Baptist Church under Reverend Boyd, where he developed his spiritual relationship with God. Rennell leaned on his faith throughout his life. He was a part of the Reserved Officer Training Corp and Civil Air Patrol at Columbus Air Force Base. Rannell later went on to Job Corp, where he truly found his niche…cooking.  He then decided to improve his skills at The Culinary Institute of America. Along his journey of mastering the arts within culinary arts, Rennell became an entrepreneur and creator of his own bar-b-que sauce that was inspired by his late grandmother, Juanita Randle. Through years of perfecting his skills, Rennell became an internationally recognized culinary artist. He had great pride in being a distinguished celebrity chef. When he entered the kitchen, it was his sanctuary. Aside from his family, his greatest love was the magic he made in the kitchen. Throughout his childhood, Rennell would always tell his siblings that he knew how to make their bikes go faster, and every Christmas they believed him. Needless to say, there were six new bicycles in the driveway on December 25th; however, by December 27th there was only one that was safe enough to ride. Rennell shared a unique bond with all his siblings, but his closest siblings and partners in the crime of mischief were Christella and Anthony. The latest saga was between Rennell and Christella… "The Missing Thin Mints", the exchange was of pure love and a good laugh. Rennell had a more serious side to him that he left reserved for Melissa, D'Shun and Donald Duck. He and Donald Duck have traveled this life journey together since Rennell was a very small child and he never left home without him. Melissa afforded Rennell the opportunity to be unapologetically himself. Throughout their journey of love, they have been one another's backbone. Even through the health battles, Melissa and Rennell faced it and life together, as a unit. Along the way Rennell and D'Shun had both a father/son and best friend type relationship. He and Melissa showed D'Shun how to be the best version of himself on a daily basis.

Rennell was preceded in death by his loved ones Juanita Upchurch Randle, Christopher Micheal Shelton and Nicholas Alexander Perkins-Carson.

He leaves to mourn him, his spouse, Melissa Wright-Randle; his children, Brendt Michael Whitfield and D'Shun Wright; his parents, Robert Hairston and Maggie Hairston; his siblings, Christella Hogan (Rodney), Anthony Randle (Chastity), Elizabeth Carson (Michael), and Regina Lewis (Leo) and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles, in-laws and family and friends.

Rennell was one in a million and he for sure spoke his mind quite well. Rennell will be forever cherished and loved by his family and friends.
