IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rebecca "Becky"
Kristeen Moore
August 9, 1955 – December 3, 2025
Our loss but God's gain.
A loving goodbye to…
Becky K. Moore
August 9th, 1955 - December 3rd, 2025
70 years young, of Springfield, Becky died in her home, surrounded by her loved ones at 10:15am, Wednesday, December 3rd, 2025.
Becky was born in Sterling, Illinois on August 9th, 1955 to parents Arthur A. Ghys and Evelyn Ghys. Relocating to Elkland, Missouri at the age of 5, Becky attended Elkland Elementary and then went on to graduate from Marshfield High School in 1972. After relocating once again to start college at SMSU, in Springfield, Becky moved on to different ventures in life. This ultimately put her in the position to later meet the love of her life, Ron Moore as they worked through the Halloween season, at a haunted house together. A "witch" and "dead Indian" somehow divinely destined to be together and share a lifelong bond that stood the test of time. Marrying on March, 15th, 1980 at Central Assembly { West chapel }
Becky held many different occupations over the years including her longest stint { 25 years } as a union steward for the United States postal service. During this time, her and Ron began their family and were eventually blessed to, collectively, have four children, Noah J. Moore, Seth A. Moore, Caleb N. Moore, and Hannah R. Moore. As a loving mother, Becky made the decision to leave her position with the postal service to dedicate herself and her time to being a full-time stay at home mother. Her kids were always her world and priority above anything else. Always going above and beyond to make every single birthday, holiday, graduation or any other moment of shared success a very special and celebrated occasion. During Christmas, Becky made special efforts to hand-sew personalized stockings for each of her children and overflow the bottom of the Christmas tree, each year, with as many gifts as possible. Seeing the delight and joy of her children was something she strove to always pursue.
For much of her life, Becky spent her free time as an avid reader, always frequenting her local library branches and losing herself in the stories of many different authors. She loved playing the piano and her love of music extended into much of her time being used to listen to music. When reading and music could not hold her attention, Becky really enjoyed watching reality TV shows like Survivor, America's got Talent, The Voice and American Idol. She had many other passions and interests including crafting and writing poems under her pseudonym Kris.
In her older years, Becky was blessed and delighted to welcome three grandchildren into the world, Annabella K. Moore, Ean A. Moore, and Wesley N. Moore, born to { son } Caleb N. Moore and { daughter-in-law } Samantha L. Moore. The "Grans" as she lovingly dubbed them, took a very special place in her heart and always brought a smile to her face and a light to her eyes. She relished every moment she had with the young ones and the rest of the family whenever she could seize the opportunity.
Becky also took pride in being a woman of God and was a faithful member of James River Assembly for over thirty years, where she and Ron spent many years as Sunday school teachers and singing praise and worship songs as members of the James River choir. Always remaining steadfast and dedicated in her walk with God.
Becky is survived by her husband Ron A. Moore, her four children Noah J. Moore, Seth A. Moore, Caleb N. Moore and Hannah R. Moore. Her grandchildren Annabella K. Moore, Ean A. Moore and Wesley N. Moore. Others surviving Becky include her brother Art Ghys and sister-in-law Carolyn Ghys, sister-in-law Eula Ghys, and sister Sonnet Roth and husband Jim Roth.
Preceding Becky in death is her Father Arthur A. Ghys, mother Evelyn Ghys and her brother Bill Ghys.
