Obituary

Joan Jordan loved children and animals. She had a special gift in teaching her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and even her pets, that they were the most important beings on this earth. She was a talented writer and artist, advocating creativity throughout her life. She loved wine, flowers, painting, sculpting and especially loved to laugh. Joan was born in Chicago, on December 20, 1927. The daughter of a single mother who was an actress on the stage, she spent her first few months sleeping backstage in the top drawer of a dresser. She dedicated her life to taking care of her family, preceded in death by her husband Earl Thomas Jordan from Wheatland, MO and oldest daughter, Nancy Joan Jordan Heinz (1951-1979).
She is survived by her daughter, Janet Jordan MD of Springfield, MO, Bret Jordan of Olathe, KS, and her son-in-law Terry Heinz of Springfield, MO. Alfredo Dieguez and Gretchen Heinz were her special in-laws and friends throughout the years. Her loving caregiver was Jan Heinz, of the family. She had 12 grandchildren: Jessica, Brad and Jordan Heinz; Michael, Dane, Gabriel, Cullen, Christian, Grace, and Joseph Jordan; Andoni and Alejandro Dieguez. She had 9 great grandchildren. She was creative, kind, generous and loving. Her accomplishments were many, as measured in the hearts of her family. She will be missed by us all.
