Howard Randal (Randy) Wimmer, age 73, of Springfield passed away in his home Sunday, January 15, 2023. He was born June 10, 1949 in Springfield to Howard Lee and Katherine (Tuter) Wimmer Groblebe.

Randy graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1966. He earned a Master's Degree at Southwest Missouri State College, now Missouri State University. He worked at the IGA grocery store on South Glenstone at a young age. Randy served in the Peace Corps during the Vietnam War. After serving in the Peace Corps he became a Nursing Home Inspector for the Missouri Department of Health until his retirement. Randy was a hobby archeologist and was a fourth generation bee keeper.

Randy is preceded in death by his parents; a sister Sheila McCullough; a brother Allen Wimmer; and a nephew Grant McCullough.

Randy is survived by Mike and Tonya Wimmer, Sherri Jamison Case, Lora Von Neill; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Graveside service will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 18, 2024, in Eastlawn Cemetery: 2244 E. Pythian St. Springfield, MO. 65802.
