Obituary

Ralph Eugene Carter unexpectedly passed away on September 2nd, 2014 in
California. Ralph was born on December 5th, 1952 in Springfield, Missouri.
He was raised and loved by his parents Ruby (1971) and James (2013)
Carrell.

Ralph graduated from Central High School in Springfield in 1971
and immediately enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served
proudly for 14 years including the Vietnam War. He received honors and
awards for his service. Ralph was employed with the the Dept of Veteran's
Affairs Hospital from July 2002 until his death. Ralph was a laid back man
that worked hard and cared deeply for his family. He was also a true
baseball fan. He loved the Kansas City Royals and wanted to share his love
of baseball with others. He successfully coached for Wil-Kon Little League
for 10 years winning several titles and enriching the lives of all the
children around him.

He was preceded in death by a sister Wilma (2011), and a brother Bobby(2011).

Ralph is survived by his two sons Jermaine Ralph Carter (California) and Maurice
James Carter (Arizona). He also leaves behind his beloved grandson Aidan Damon Carter (son of Maurice) and three sisters Shirley (Nevada), Joyce (California), Frances (Springfield) and a host of family and friends and although he is gone, he will never be forgotten.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014 from 6-8 PM at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte, 4500 S. Lone Pine, Springfield, MO. Services will be held at 9 AM, Friday, Sept. 26, 2014 in the chapel. Burial will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
