Mrs. Phyllis Faye Rost, 94 of Strafford, MO, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 in the Strafford Care Center.

Phyllis  was born on Sunday, June 30, 1929 in Springfield, Mo. to Bill and Naomi (McKay) Ray. She was married to Paul W. Rost who preceded her in death. She was very involved in her community and was a member of the school PTA and volunteered her time in her local church. Throughout her life she worked as a cashier at MFA, Strafford and also worked for Lily Tulip.

Phyllis enjoyed embroidery, singing and most of all, raising her children and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Arlis and Barbara Graves of Independence, Mo, Paulette and Burt Kerr, Tony and Donna Rost, Gene and Carmen Rost  which all reside in Strafford, Mo and Patricia Rost of Gurnee, IL; eight grandchildren, Randy Graves, Bryan Graves, Melissa Kerr-Port, Jennifer Kerr, Amy Rost, Debbie Petz, Bill Braden and Paul Rost Jr.; twelve great-grandchildren, Jessica, Ian, Jade, Julia, Taylor, Dillon, Taylor, Haley, Mike, Mia, Chelsea and Sara.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul W. Rost; son, Paul E. Rost; parents, Bill and Naomi Ray; one brother, Carl Ray; two sisters, Dorothy Jackson and Aileen Reid; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to all the staff at Strafford Care Center, Senior Aging,  Access Home Care, Preferred Hospice and all the family that helped care for Mom while she was at home.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at the Klingner Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte: 4500 S. Lone Pine Ave, Springfield, Mo 65804. Visitation will be from 1:00 - 2:00 PM with the funeral service starting at 2:00 PM  with Pastor Van Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Cemetery, 2244 E.
