Obituary

Phillip Dean Landreth, 80, passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 in Springfield, MO. He was born to Red and Mabel in Springfield, MO on Friday, July 12, 1940.

Phillip grew up in the country with his two brothers Lee and Larry and two sisters; Pat and Marion running around through the fields throwing rocks and playing with BB guns. He attended Pleasant Hope High school where he met the love of his life Shirley. Phillip enlisted into the Missouri National Guard out of high school and while on two weeks of leave from training, Phillip and Shirley married on August 17, 1958.  During Phillip and Shirley's 62 years of marriage they had three daughters Debby, Cynthia and Sondra. He was a very successful plumber, starting in the plumbers union and pipefitters union 178 out of Springfield, MO. Phillip then started his own business known as Landreth Trenching Service, retiring after many successful years in business. During his life and especially during retirement he enjoyed gardening, putting together and flying model airplanes, spending time with friends and family,  but most importantly spending time with his wife Shirley and watching their kids, grandkids and great-grandkids grow up out on the farm. One thing is for certain Phillip was a man of the lord and an active member of Pleasant Valley Church. Found in his bible, which he had for many years, was a piece of paper with the following, "God will do exceedingly abundantly above all that I ask or think, because I honor him his blessing will chase me down and overtake me. I will be in the right place at the right time. People will go out of their way to be good to me. I am surrounded by god's favor."

Phillip was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, three daughters Debbie Nickols, Cynthia Landreth and Sondra Renshaw (husband Tim), two brothers Lee and Lary Landreth, two sisters Pat Eagon and Marion White, six grandchildren Christopher Landreth, Keegan Truman, Kelsey Bittle (husband Jake), Emily Pernice (husband Braxton), Allison King and Zachary Scott and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family.
