It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Pearl Mae Baxter, who departed this life on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at the age of 70. She was born Pearl Mae Thompson on Saturday, October 30, 1954 in Springfield, Missouri to Oliver and Mary Thompson.
Pearl and JT have been residing in the Marshfield, MO area where she worked as a school bus driver and in the lunchroom of the Marshfield school district for many years. She touched the lives of not only local individuals but also those from around the United States as she and her husband traveled extensively around the U.S. living the full time RV lifestyle for 11 years (1997-2009). Pearl was a deeply loving and loved mother, wife, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, grandmother, great grandmother, friend, co-worker etc. and will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, sense of humor, dedication, compassion, trustworthiness and on and on. In short, she was a "one of a kind" wonderful person. Pearl was passionate about her faith in God and Jesus the Christ, her marriage to JT and ALWAYS put others before herself.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years Pastor Jaylynn Timothy "JT" Baxter, two sons William and Bradly Mizell, four stepsons Brian, Jason, Jeremy and Jared, four sisters Frances Potter (husband Frank) of Ava, MO, Linda Kratzer (husband Leroy) of Springfield, MO, Rosie Applegate (husband Norman) of Springfield, MO and Patsy Akin of Marshfield, MO, five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and too many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends to count.
Pearl was predeceased by her parents, her twin sister Geneva Thompson, her sister Joanne D'Maranville and one brother Charlie Kilbarth
A visitation will be held from 12-1 PM on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte, 4500 S. Lone Pine Ave., Springfield, MO 65804 with a memorial service to celebrate her life to follow at 1 PM. All those who know Pearl are invited to attend and share their memories. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that love offerings be made in her memory to the family to assist with expenses. Pearl will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
