Paul Wilkerson Jr., 56 of Springfield passed away October 3, 2023 at Cox South hospital from a sudden illness. He was born in Riverton, Wyoming to Paul Wilkerson Sr. and Carolyn Silvers.
He graduated from Forsyth high school and later earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Drury College in 1997 and a Masters of Arts degree from Webster University in 2013.
He started his career at Springfield Remanufacturing Corporation, Heavy Duty in 1985 breaking down engines, finishing his career as Director of Transportation and Supply Chain at SRC Logistics. He was a negotiator, a problem solver and had a unique leadership style that was valued by many.
He was a dedicated athlete and enjoyed running local marathons but his passion was genealogy. He was co-administrator of the Descendants of William Wilkerson Sr., 1720 Facebook page and was also a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and a contributor to the Lone Jack Historical Society. He was also a member of the Solomon Masonic Lodge #271 and the Ash Grove Masonic Lodge #100 where he served as past Master and past Secretary. Paul also wrote beautiful poetry, his creativity was boundless and his accomplishments were many.
He is proceeded in death by his father, Paul Franklin Wilkerson Sr. Survivors include his wife, Kathy Wilkerson; daughter Alex Wilkerson; sons, Paul Wilkerson III and Nathan Wilkerson; mother, Carolyn Silvers and husband Robert Silvers; sisters, Dawn Drury; Candice Wilkerson; Amy Saltsgaver; Maxina Silvers; brothers, Eric Wilkerson; Allen Wilkerson; Jon Wilkerson, their spouses and 18 nieces and nephews.
Paul was a man who was driven by purpose and responsibility. His family is eternally grateful for his love and dedication. He will be dearly missed.
A celebration of life will be held in Paul's honor. For information, please contact the family. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made to a charity of choice.
