Obituary

Paul Eugene Bonds, 83, of Rogersville, MO, passed away early Saturday morning, May 2, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Paul was born on Saturday, May 9, 1942, in South Haven, Michigan, the son of Troy and Ola (Hodge) Bonds. He married the love of his life, Joyce Lee Beach, on December 31, 1960, in Springfield, MO at the home of his parents.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents, and his dearest friend whom he considered his brother, Don Haden.

He and Joyce were just shy of celebrating their 66th wedding anniversary.

Paul is survived by his wife, Joyce of Rogersville, MO; one daughter, Michelle Edwards and husband, John of Rogersville, MO; one son, Jim Bonds and fiancé, Kim Bowler of Nixa, MO; three grandchildren that he was so very proud of, Jason Edwards and wife, Alex of Chesterfield, MO, Jamie (Edwards) Campagnola and husband, Chris of New York City  and Jesse Edwards and wife, Alli of Bentonville, AR and four great-grandchildren that he loved dearly, Luca Campanola of New York City, William and Ceclia Edwards of Chesterfield, MO and Emmett Paul Edwards of Bentonville, AR; two very special grand-dogs, Winnie of Rogersville and BondZ of Nixa; one sister, Wanda Stoecker of Springfield, MO; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and very dear friends.

Paul retired as a truck driver from Associated Grocers in 1991, after working for 35 years. He took over working and caring for the Beach family Century Farm in Almartha, MO until 2016. He loved spending time on the farm and tending to a herd of cattle. Paul was very active in local government elections and served proudly as a Democratic Election Judge for many years in the Rogersville community. Paul was also very active with the local Teamsters Union. He traveled to many Teamster events and rallies throughout the state and at the local level supporting causes he strongly believed in. Paul was an active member of Harmony Baptist Church in Rogersville, MO and loved his church family.

The Bonds family would like to thank Paul’s Harmony Baptist Sunday school class, Happy Harmoneer’s group and the church family as a whole for the love and support given to him and Joyce through the years. The Teamsters Retiree Group for the wonderful monthly fellowship that was provided through the years, and to Cheryl, the worker from Veritas Home Care for the outstanding care and support provided during her time of assistance.

Paul was a loving husband, dad, grandpa, and pa, as well as a dedicated caregiver to Joyce. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
