Paul H. Appling Jr., 86 of Springfield, MO, passed away on March 30, 2016 with his family by his side. Paul was born in Lebanon, MO on February 26, 1930 in Lebanon, MO to Bess M. Johnson and Paul Henry Appling, Sr.
After serving his country as a member of the United States Airforce, Paul married the love of his life, Norma J Dampier on November 4, 1956. Paul and Norma enjoyed 48 loving years together until her passing on September 10, 2005.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Norma, and two sisters; Peggy and Pauline.
He is survived by one son; Paul Matthew Appling (Beverly), and one daughter Jennifer Piland (Dan), six grandchildren; Tara Martell (Brad), Matthew Roper (Hallie), Julia Cooley (Zach), Lauren Fraker (Nathan), Tyler Appling, Kelly Appling, and nine great-grandchildren as well as numerous friends and family.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 8, 2016 at 11:30 at the Klingner-Cope Funeral Home @Rivermonte, followed by an interment ceremony at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at 1 PM in Springfield, MO.
