Patsy Lou Smith, 83, of Springfield, MO passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at her home, surrounded by family. She was born on Wednesday, October 22, 1941, in Morrisville, MO to Velma and Ray Brown.
Pat graduated from Bolivar High School in 1959, then went on to become a Registered Nurse, graduating from Springfield Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in 1963. She started her career at Baptist Hospital in Springfield Mo. Eventually, she worked as an Oncology Nurse at Smith Glynn Callaway Clinic for over 30 years. Pat was a blessing and dear friend to many of her patients during that time. She loved sewing and crafting and making gifts for others. Pat enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and her beloved cats over the years. She was also an avid Elvis Presley fan and enjoyed collecting his memorabilia.
Pat was proceeded in death by her husband Robert, her parents, two brothers Ray Gene Brown and John W. Brown, one infant sister Eva Brown, two stepdaughters Jeanne Goss and Sharon Felton and one stepson Robert L Smith.
She is survived by her son Jim Brown (wife Robin), one brother Ronnie Brown (wife Donna), one sister Vicki Cribbs (husband Dwain), One very special friend of many years Mary Vinyard and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A visitation will be held from 11:30-1:30 PM on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home, 4500 S. Lone Pine Ave., Springfield, MO 65804 with graveside services to follow at 2 PM at the Slagle Cemetery in Brighton, MO. Memorial donations may be made in her name to Watching Over Whiskers or Rescue ONE. Online condolences can be made at www.klingnerfuneralhome.com
