Patricia "Pat" Jayne Smith, 75, of Springfield, Mo. passed away peacefully Feb. 26, 2021 at Jordan Creek Nursing Home in Springfield, Mo. after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born August 14, 1945 in Elkhart, KS, the daughter of Glen & Evelyn Kisner. Evelyn was later remarried to Don Rutledge and Pat went by his last name of Rutledge.
She was united in marriage to Norman Smith and they enjoyed over 50 years together. They had two children Jaymes and LaDena Smith. Grandchildren are David, Keith, Adriana, Madeleine, Devon, Isabella, Kylie and 13 great-grandchildren. She has two sisters, Donita DePreste and Sue Kester, and one brother, Calvin Rutledge.
Her Mom and Stepdad owned the Wishing Well Motor Inn in Springfield, Mo. and Pat worked there off and on for many years along with her sisters.
She grew up on the farm in Missouri and enjoyed riding horses. She had numerous hobbies over the years: oil painting, Artex painting, plaster piece painting, eating out at restaurants, buying fountain drink Pepsi, and she loved to be out on the go. She also enjoyed music and would spend time playing gospel songs on her accordion, singing, and listening to her stereo.
She loved her family and enjoyed teasing them and buying gifts. Pat's cheerful, spitfire attitude and generous ways will be dearly missed.
