Obituary

Pamela Sue Turner, age 70 of Springfield, Mo passed away on Wednesday March 11, 2026, peacefully at her home after a courageous 2-year battle with ovarian cancer.

Pam was born on May 24, 1955, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Louie Dean and Bonita E. Withers. Pam was the oldest of 4 children. Pam married David Turner on November 10, 1973, at Cherry Street Baptist Church, where she accepted Jesus as her Savior many years before. Pam went to the School of Cosmetology and spent many years working at J. Michaels where she met many lifelong friends.

In 1980 her and David started Turner Building. They worked together designing and building beautiful homes for over 40 years. Pam loved live music and all things outdoors that involved the sun and water.

Pam will be remembered for her fun birthday parties and holidays she celebrated with her family. Pam brought sunshine wherever she went. She had a true gift for being fully present with the people she loved, showing up with enthusiasm and warmth even for things that didn't personally interest her, simply because it mattered to someone else.

Pam is survived by her husband, David Turner; two children, Angela Lynn Turner-Darr and Shawn David Turner both of Springfield, Mo. She is also survived by a sister, Brenda Lee Allai of Ozark, Mo. Pam also had six wonderful grandchildren, Estella Claire Thornton, Wolfgang Axil Turner, Vegas Kiki Turner, Pearl Francis Darr, Gracie Dakota Darr, and Arrow Judah Darr

Pam was preceded in death by her parents, Louie Dean Withers and Bonita Withers,  brother, Ricky Dean Withers and her sister, Deborah Ann Kitrell.

A Celebration of Life will be at 1:00 P.M. Friday, March 13, 2026 at Klingner Cope Funeral Home Rivermonte with Pastor. Lindsey Racz officiating. Burial will follow in Rivermonte Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
