Obituary

Otis Peter "Pete" Johnson, 93 made his transition to Heaven on Saturday, November 26, 2016. Pete as he was known was born on July 10, 1923 in Prospect, Kansas to Wilhelm and Clara (Willing) Johnson. He attended school in Towanda, KS, Mr. Johnson was an ordained minister and pastored churches in Kansas, Wyoming, Ohio, Oklahoma and Missouri.

He was a World War II veteran and a 1985 retiree of Phillips Petroleum Co. where he was a design engineer. He married Hazel Merryman on October 5, 1942. Hazel passed away in January 2006.

While pastoring in Wheatland, MO he met Edith Dale and they were married on November 17, 2007. They both worked at Mt Zion Bible School in Ava. Pete worked in the maintenance department. Mr. Johnson also had operated a clock repair business while at MZBS.

Pete is survived by his sons, Larry of Washington state and Steven of Las Vegas, NV; step children, Gary Dale of Seymour, David Dale of Loveland, CO, John Dale of Ava, MO, Kayleen Eagleston of Mansfield, MO and Karolyn Garrett of Perryville, MO along with a host of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Hazel and a daughter, Linda Johnson Koenig.

Memorial service for Mr. Johnson will be Saturday, December 3, 2016 in the chapel at Mt Zion Bible School. Visitation at 10:00 am and memorial service at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Mt Zion Cemetery
