Oneita Leta Mathis, 87 of Springfield, passed away on March 31, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was born on December 8, 1926 in the back of a taxi cab in Kansas City, MO.

She was a stay at home mom and will be sadly missed.

Oneita is survived by her children, Donald, Kenneth, Larry, Carol, Rodney, Ruth and Lisa; 12 grandchildren; her twin sister, Juanita and a host of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2014 from 6:00 till 8:00 pm at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel, 5234 W State Hwy EE (Division), Springfield, MO. A graveside service will be on Friday, April 4, 2014 at 10:00 am in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
