Olen Provow, Springfield, passed away on February 1, 2025. Born in Bakersfield, MO to Chester and Rebecca (nee Butcher) on September 17, 1941.

A graduate of West Plains High School, Olen served his country in the United States Marine Corps.  Upon an honorable discharge, Olen met his future wife, Theresa and married in March 1965. They were blessed with daughters Kimberly Ann and Kelly Jean.  Olen retired from over 40 years working as an Accountant and enjoyed gardening, shooting pool and perfecting his salsa recipe.

Olen taught his daughters valuable lessons, often without their knowledge; how to quietly enjoy the sunrise when fishing on a rippling lake, when to take no for an answer and when not too. He was tough, funny, brave and a man of his time and ahead of his time.  His daughters never thought they couldn't do whatever they set their minds to doing.  He held his wife up on a pedestal and held her hand when her youngest daughter was called to God at an all too early age. He was a relentlessly proud Marine, every November 10th, he knocked on his adult daughter's front door in his dress blues, Oorah.

Olen is preceded in death by his parents, wife of 53 years Theresa, sister Ola Mae Marshell and daughter Kelly Jean.

Olen is survived by daughter Kimberly and husband Ian who reside in NC. He is also survived by nieces and their families, four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

A graveside commitment will be held on Monday February 17, 2015 at 11 A.M. at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte (4500 S. Lone Pine Springfield, MO 65804). The family is requesting no flowers.
