Norman Kentling Forrester, age 90, went to be with our Lord, Monday, May 28, 2012, in his home in Springfield, MO surrounded by family. He was born April 28, 1922 in Springfield, MO, the son of Leslie B. and Ida Forrester. Norman's great-grandparents, Ferdinand and Catherine Kentling, founded the City of Highlandville, MO.
Norman was a World War II Air Force Veteran and flew 31 missions. He was an avid bowler and Triple-A Softball player and was inducted into the Ozark's Bowling Hall of Fame. At retirement he was the General manager and Purchasing Agent for Empire Automotive Distributors and served as President of Ozark's Association of Purchasing Management. He was a member of Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church for 53 years and was a beloved Husband, dad, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa and Friend to many.
Norman is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lovie; daughter Marcia Nash and her husband Lee of Apison, TN, son John Kentling Forrester and his wife Becky of Springfield, MO, son Brad Forrester and his wife Anita of Springfield, MO; six grandchildren: Jonathan Nash and his wife Betsy of Apison, TN, Michelle Hubbard and her husband Brian of Williamson, GA, Ryan Kentling Forrester of Minneapolis, MN, Bethany Blue Forrester of Springfield, MO; Blake Hausman and his wife Brooke of San Diego, CA, Derek Hausman of Springfield, MO; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Monday, June 4, 2012 at Klingner-Cope Funeral Home at White Chapel in Springfield, with burial at WhiteChapel Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday at White Chapel from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
