Nola Pauline Thompson was born in Springfield Missouri to Benjamin and Bertha Marie (Freeman) Yoder. Her spirit embarked for new journeys on September 15, 2020.

Nola was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Fredrick Jay Dee Thompson, her parents, and a sister, Mary Jane Hubbard.

Nola enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She liked knitting and travelling.  She was not overly fond of trying novel dishes, but her children often talked her into trying at least a bite of something new. She loved watching the sun set over the ocean and walking on the beach in California. She was a model of strength, independence, and perseverance.

Nola loved and is survived by many who love her:

–          Three children to whom she often said "I've been thinking…" followed by a scheme which would somehow benefit one or more of them: Lily Ross, Jay Dee Thompson and June King;

–          A close sister, her partner for many adventures, Marie Christian, and a brother with whom she spoke every day, Ron Yoder;

–          Two grandchildren she enjoyed visiting in California: Issac and Jesse Thompson;

–          Many nieces and nephews: Patty, Benjamin, Jane Ann, Ginger, Anthony, Jacqueline, Larry, Rhonda, Jerry, Sandra, Joyce, Carla, Amber;

–          Those she considered just different kinds of grandkids: Dixie, Catzeqotl, Zanzibar, Caesar, and Kia.

–          And others, Chris, Robb, Eric, who became part of the family.

Visitation will be Monday, September 21 ^st from 1 pm to 2 pm at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel, 5234 W. State Highway EE (Division), Springfield, MO 65802. Brief (as Nola requested) graveside service and interment will immediately follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
