Mrs. Nancy DeLong Preffitt, age 88, of Springfield, MO, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at Cox South Hospital, Springfield, MO. Nancy was born at Montgomery General Hospital in Sandy Springs, MO. on Sunday, February 27, 1938.

Nancy moved to Springfield, MO in 1974 with her family where she was a Property Manager for over thirty years. She also had several of her own rental properties. Nancy loved reading, sewing, traveling and spending time with her family. She also loved spending time relaxing in her cabin at Table Rock Lake. She was a member of several clubs, committees and boards in the Springfield area. She was an avid Kansas City Royals fan. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lewis Conrad and Sarah Norwood Graybill and husband Richard I. Preffitt; one niece, Katherin Minor.

Nancy is survived by one son, David Preffitt and wife, Kathy; one daughter, Elizabeth Preffitt; five sisters, Catherine "Kitty" Minor, Nina M. Gray, Vergina "Ginger" E. Graybill, Eugena "Genie M. Harman and Constance "Connie" L. Moffat; four grandchildren, Tyler Preffitt, Afton Waldheuser, Brandon Huff and Stasha Huff; three great-grandchildren, William Waldheuser, Roman Huff and Maya Huff; nieces and nephews, Jeanne Minor, Murad Baqir, Liz Baqir Mirsky, John Harman, Molly Harmon, Sharon Blassic, Kirby Moffatt and Kimberly Moffatt Slaughter.
