IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Nadene
Franke
July 2, 1932 – December 15, 2022
Twyla "Nadene" Franke departed this earth Thursday, December 15, 2022 following a long illness. She was born July 2, 1932 in Springfield MO to Ray and Marie Powers.
She married the love of her life before he left for war on September 11, 1950. Their love story continued, writing beautiful chapters for 45 years until "Ole Joe" was called to his heavenly home. From Twyla Nadene's first breath, it seems, she was destined to bring love, joy and acceptance to all those around her. She was a little package, never reaching 5 Feet high, but who was bigger than life itself. She had a heart that focused on serving those around her and that included anyone she encountered, in any situation every single day of her life. She had a smile that thawed the coldest of hearts, words that were kind and always wise, and a twinkle that lit up those sparkling true blue eyes, all of which drew strangers to her. She loved her Lord God and committed her life to loving, caring and guiding her family for 72 years and she never faltered up to her last breath. She taught faith, forgiveness, family, strength and acceptance. But she also taught joy, happiness, laughter, sassiness and how to have fun. She loved everything with "bling", dancing, books, gardening, animals, and of course her occasional margarita. She will be missed, but her phenomenal legacy will live on in so many who carry her and her examples in their hearts. She is now in heaven holding her baby that she lost 7 weeks ago and dancing with our Dad again. Heaven took one of their earthly angels home and presented her with her heavenly wings and we can take comfort knowing we have another special angel watching over us now. We would like to give special thanks to the staff of 5B at Mercy hospital who cared for Mom with loving compassion during her transition from this earth.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Marie Powers; her husband, Joseph A. Franke; a sister, Elda Evelyn Padgett; a brother, Jimmy Ray Powers; and her baby son, James Mark Franke.
She is survived by her daughter Cindy (Franke) Bishop and Neil, Billings, MO; her son, Joseph S. Franke and Dona of Brighton, MO; a daughter-in-law, Vicki Franke of Springfield, MO; a sister, Stella Genet Dixon, Rantoul, IL; 4 grandchildren, Michael Bishop (Stephanie) Clever, MO; Bryan Bishop (Tanya), Billings, MO; Nikki Wester (Jordan) of Springfield, MO; Devin Franke, Springfield, MO; and 13 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and a host of friends, nieces and nephews who all loved their Auntie.
There will be a private family ceremony honoring her life at a later date and time. Memorial donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society or the Human Sociaty. Onlin condolences can be made at www.klingnerfuneralhome.com
