Monica (Mickey) McAlister, 80, of Springfield, MO passed away on July 21, 2021 after a three year courageous battle with cancer. She fought this battle with bravery and grace. Mickey was born September 6, 1940 in Adams County, Iowa, the daughter of the late Harold and Juanita Bacon. She was united in marriage to H. Mike McAlister on October 4, 1962.

She is preceded in death by her husband, H. Mike McAlister and her son, Michael Lee McAlister. She is survived by her daughter, Chris Rehagen (Brian), two grandsons, Derek Rehagen, Chicago, Illinois and Mitchael McAlister, Maryland Heights, MO, and granddaughter, Nacole McAlister of Livermore, California. Two sisters, Marguerite Pennington (Don) of Springdale, Arkansas and Maureen Bacon of Springfield, MO. A niece Becky Martin of Omaha, Arkansas, and four nephews Dave Martin, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Donnie, Randy, and Rusty Branstetter all of Springfield, MO.

A special friend and companion, Bill McAlister of Harrison, Arkansas and many caring and devoted friends.

The family would like to thank Dr. Al Bonebrake and Kristen Heydt for their continued care and support. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to GYN Cancer Alliance 3039 South Fort Avenue, Suite A, Springfield, MO 65807.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte (4500 S. Lone Pine Avenue Springfield, MO 65804). Visitation will be on Wednesday from 11:00-1:00 p.m. Burial will take place in Rivermonte Memorial Gardens.
