Miriam E. Devine, 87, of Springfield, MO passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2013. She was born on January 26, 1926 to Erich and Emma (Kriebel) Ernsting.

She enjoyed her work in advertising at Heers on the square, was very active in the Christian Women''s Club, volunteered numerous hours at the Springfield Lutheran School and enjoyed her Tuesday morning bible class. In her later years Miriam had an adventurous spirit from parasailing in Hawaii to taking a hot air balloon ride on her 70th birthday provided by the Lutheran School and had even talked about parachuting out of an airplane.

Miriam is preceded in death by her husband Bernie Devine; sister Elvera "Rusty"; brother Wilber as well as her parents.

She is survived by her daughter Teresa (Jamie) Holstein; 3 grandchildren Jeff (Lisa) Holstein, Amanda (Phil) Snider and Josh (Maria) Holstein and 8 great grandchildren.

A service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Redeemer Lutheran Church 2852 S. Dayton Ave Springfield, MO 65807 with Reverend Maas officiating. Burial to be in Hazelwood Cemetery
