Mike Franklin, 58 of Springfield, MO passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2014. He was born in Birmingham, AL to Edna Hovies and Charles Monroe Franklin Sr., on February 14, 1956.

He was a carpenter and certified fork lift operator. He enjoyed looking for arrowheads, playing the drums and spending time on the water with his family and friends.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers, Charles, James, Rufus and Samual; one sister, Alice Smithey.

He is survived by his wife, Dawn; his son, Michael Franklin of Springfield; 3 daughters, Melissa and Melody of Springfield and Amy of St. Louis; father and mother -in-law, Donald and Patsy Edwards of Rogersville; 3 sisters, Carolyn (Phillip) Chainey of Springfield, Juanita (Wayne) Pruett of Springfield and LouAnn (James) Glancy of Nixa; 2 brothers, Eugene (Alice) Franklin of Pleasant Hope and Roger Franklin of Ozark; numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 from 2-3 p.m. at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel 5234 W. State Hwy EE Springfield, MO with a graveside and burial to follow at 3 p.m. in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
