Melvin M. Hercher, 72 of Springfield, was born on June 17, 1941 in St. Louis, MO to Marvin and Thelma Hercher. He passed away on April 28, 2014.

He was married to Sandra Lee (Johnson) Hercher, who preceded him in death, and was an electrician. He loved fishing, NASCAR, wrestling, fast cars and freedom. He enjoyed playing the guitar, singing country music and loving on his grandbabies.

Melvin is survived by his children, Bryan, Russell, Cindy and Kris; 17 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and a host of friends and family.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2014 from 5:00 till 7:00 p.m. at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel, 5234 W State Hwy EE (Division), Springfield, MO. A service will be on Friday, May 2, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Chaplin Laird Thompson officiating. Interment will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens
