Maxine Finley, age 93, passed away peacefully at home on April 14, 2016 with family by her side. Maxine was born in Ash County, NC on September 2, 1922 to Blanch Wood and Emory Eldreth.
Maxine married Edward Finley on November 2, 1960. They were married 41 years until Edward''s passing on June 11, 2002. She was the ward secretary at St. John''s Hospital. Maxine enjoyed playing cards, Facebook, bowling, and spending time with family and friends.
Maxine is preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward, 1 sister; Mary Carter, 2 brothers; Duck and Paul Eldreth, 1 daughter; Ruth Ann Graybeal,1 son; Jack Eldreth, and 1 grandson; Chris Lane.
She is survived by 4daughters; Doris Lane, Pauline Watters (Joe), Sandy Stoneman (Red), Sue Jones (Jim), 2 sons; Bill Graybeal (Ursula), Wayne Graybeal (Julie), 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren with one on the way, as well as a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte Chapel on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 from 1-2 pm with funeral services to follow at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers family would like donations to be made to Haven Hospice.
