Obituary

Maude "Opal" Bruton, 93, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2014, in Springfield, MO. She was born to John and Mary Hinkle on October 12, 1921 in Wanego, KS.

Opal enjoyed quilting and spending time with family and friends. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 3404. Opal married James Isaac Reedy on November 24, 1937 in Halfway, MO and to this union 4 children were born. They enjoyed 32 years of marriage before he passed away on October 30, 1970. In June of 1976 Opal married Bill Bruton. There marriage lasted for 4 years until Bill passed away in 1980.

Preceding her in death were her parents; 2 husbands; 1 son, Jimmy Reedy; 3 brothers, Earl, John and Francis Hinkle; 1 sister Mary Johnson; 1 great-great grandson.

She is survived by 3 daughters, Betty King of Springfield, MO, Sharon (Bill) Clark of Brookline, MO and Shirley (Howard) Cook of Springfield, MO; 1 daughter-in-law Catherine Reedy of Battlefield, MO; 9 grand children, 10 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and numerous family and friends.

Visitation will be held Monday December 8, 2014 from 9-10 A.M. at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte Chapel, 4500 S. Lone Pine, Springfield, MO. Graveside service will follow in the Rivermonte Memorial Gardens.

Family is requesting memorial donations be made to VFW Post 3404, 1136 E. Atlantic, Springfield, MO 65803.
