Obituary

Mary A. White age 84, was born on March 4, 1933 to Clarence and Mary L Cain, both now deceased. She was raised in Springfield, MO along with her siblings, Clyde, Joe and Charles Cain and sister Rosa Shadwell, all of whom have preceded her in death.

On July 29, 1950, she was joined in holy matrimony to Charles R White, in Harrison, AR. They resided in Ash Grove, Missouri.

Charles preceded her in death on Oct. 3, 2009, as did her daughter, Debra Jo Smith on Aug. 7, 2015 and two grandsons, Lester Lee Crawford, Jr. on Nov. 20, 2002 and Everett Lee Smith on June 5, 2017.
Together they raised six children, 5 daughters and 1 son.
She is survived by five of her children: Alice Peters of Ozark, MO; Kay and husband Doyle Cribbs of Springfield, MO; Charles and wife Paula White of Stockton, MO; Becky and husband Tony Villanueva of Aurora, MO and Rita and husband Richard White of Walnut Grove, MO, as well as with her son-in-law Cecil Smith of Walnut Grove, MO. She was also blessed with 7 grandsons, 6 granddaughters, 3 step-grandsons, 8 step-granddaughters as well as many great and great-great grandchildren in her life.

Mary worked at several different positions in her life including factory work and retail sales. But her favorite position by far was the one she held along with her husband Charles through the Corp of Engineers as park attendants on Stockton Lake. They enjoyed meeting people from all over the United States and worked for several years after Charles'' retirement from the City of Springfield.
Her hobbies included crocheting, mostly afghans, making jellies and apple butter, usually to give away and bird watching. She loved to watch birds outside her window at the nursing home.
Mary loved people and if you had the chance to encounter her in your lifetime you can probably attest to the fact that undoubtedly without fail, you could count on the first thing out of her mouth when you came to her door would be, "Come in, sit down and I''ll put on a pot of coffee."

Mary went home to be with the Lord on June 1, 2017. There will be a visitation at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel on Monday, June 12, from 6-8 pm. Memorial contributions can be made to St Jude Children's Hospital.
Rest in peace Momma.
