Mary Elizabeth Smith, 91, of Springfield, MO left this world on Tuesday, October 20, 2026. She was born on Monday, October 22, 1934 in Fair Grove, MO to Tina Belle Campbell and William Franklin Buckner.

Mary and Cyril Smith were united in marriage on December 30, 1960. She lived in the home they bought for 65 years until her health forced her to move. Mary loved to go to any music show in Branson. She loved taking care of her great-niece and nephew and going fishing with her husband and cousin Charles Fite.

Mary was proceeded in death by her husband, her parents, four sisters and 2 brothers.

She is survived by her nephew Charles Buckner (wife Katherine) and a host of family and friends.

A visitation will be held from 11-12 PM on Monday, October 26, 2026 at the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte, 4500 S. Lone Pine Ave., Springfield, MO 65804 with funeral services to follow at 12 PM. Mary will be laid to at the Bass Chapel Cemetery.
