Obituary

Mary Jo Henderson-Krasche, 79, of Springfield, MO entered into her heavenly home peacefully on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 with her husband of 34 years at her side. She was a lifelong resident of Springfield, MO born on Wednesday, February 9, 1944 to Mae Van Laninghan and Orville E. Jackson.

Mary attended Central and Hillcrest High Schools. She worked at Cox Hospital for several years; Bass Pro for 10 years and Springfield Public Schools. Mary left the workforce to tend to her mother and then her son. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior when she was 10 years old. Her hobbies included quilting and sewing, playing the handbells, being a faithful member of Seminole Baptist Temple, Chaplain of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 639 and American Legion District 17 Ladies Auxiliary Chaplain. Mary was a fiercely loyal friend. She will be dearly missed and always remembered.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Joe Dean Henderson (they were married May 6, 1964 until his passing on October 6, 1986), one son Jeffery Dean Henderson, one grandson Lee Jeffery Henderson and two brothers Eugene and Howard Jackson.

She is survived by her second husband Rex Krasche (married on April 8, 1989), two nephews David Jackson of Anderson, MO and John Jackson of Neosho, MO and two nieces Pam Keene of Tucson, AZ  and Jeannie Fletcher of Buffalo, MO. Mary 'adopted' many close friends into her family and they were very much a part of her life: "children" Rusty and Jolena Shalla of Aurora, MO and "granddaughter" Meredith Clark of Battlefield, MO.

Mary requested all of her loved ones to join in celebrating her beautiful life at 2 PM on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at the Seminole Baptist Temple, 4221 S. National Ave., Springfield, MO 65810 with a visitation to be held from 1-2 PM.
