Mary Delores Samuel of Springfield MO died peacefully at her home on July 23, 2015 surrounded by family.
Delores was born on March 13, 1940 to Estel Johns and Ruby Voris in Kennett MO. She moved to Springfield at a young age where she graduated from Parkview High School. She attended James River Assembly of God until it became too difficult attend services. Delores married Gene Samuel of Springfield and they were happily married for just over 55 years.
Delores was preceded in death by her father Estel Johns of Campbell MO, mother Ruby Voris of Springfield, and daughter Lori Hale of Rogersville.
She is survived by her husband Gene Samuel of Springfield, daughter Lisa and her husband Bill O''Dell of Springfield, and three grandsons, Trenton O''Dell, Landon O''Dell and Mason Hale.
Delores devoted her life to her family and was actively involved in her daughter''s lives. She was considered a "2nd mom" to many of their friends throughout high school, college and beyond. She was skilled with the gift of gab and never shied away from a good conversation. In her later years, her life became all about her grandsons and she never missed a swim meet, ball game, spelling bee or any other school activity. She was a very proud mom and grandma.
Services will be held on Monday, July 27th with a visitation at 10 AM immediately followed by a funeral at 11 AM at Klingner-Cope at Rivermonte Chapel officiated by Pastor Phillip Wright.. Interment will be in Rivermonte Memorial Gardens
