Mary Virginia Hunt, 83, of Springfield Missouri, passed away December 19th of natural causes.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Grace and Clifford Hodges, her husband of 47

years, Tommy J. Hunt, her sisters, Ellen and Helen, and her brothers Clifford, Ralph and Bob.

She is survived by her sisters Judy Davis and Shirley Epperson, and her brothers Danny and Larry Hodges. Tom and Mary had 3 daughters: Carol Niederschmidt (Mark Niederschmidt), Candy Iott (Greg Iott), and Sandy Mincks (Todd Mincks). Mary's 7 grandchildren include Jaclyn Wolverton (Troy Wolverton), Brian Niederschmidt (Brandy Niederschmidt), Jack Mincks (Courtney Mincks), Joshua Mincks (Bethany Kelly), Kaitlin Mincks (Carter Richerson), Colton Iott (Emily Iott) and Paige Wade. Mary had 8 great grandchildren whom she adored. They are Chloe Wolverton, Elenor Wolverton, Ashlyn Niederschmidt, Brodie Niederschmidt, Remington Niederschmidt, Ryker Mincks, Luna Mincks and Preston McAmis. Mary loved being on the move and spending time outside. She relished being the matriarch of her family, spending as much time with the whole clan as possible. In her younger years, Mary ran a daycare in her home and created lifelong bonds with her kids, many of them keeping in touch long after their daycare years had ended. Mary's was a life well-lived, and she will be greatly missed by her friends and family.

Funeral Services will be held at Klingner Cope Family Funeral Home, 4500 South Lone Pine, Springfield, Mo. 65804, on Wednesday, December 28th. A visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 2:00pm, followed by a service at 2:00pm and a graveside service at 3:00pm.
