Mary C.
Bayliff
Jun 18, 1920 — Jan 21, 2018
Springfield
Mary C. Bayliff, 97, of Springfield, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 21, 2018. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, and under the care of special friends at Brookhaven Nursing Home.
Mary was born June 18, 1920 in Springfield, Missouri to Fred W. and Grace Steury. She graduated from Springfield High School and later married her husband Lloyd Bayliff on May 7, 1938. Mary was an active member of Glenstone Baptist Church, where she joyfully served and ministered for over sixty years. During her early years, she enjoyed working for Freeman Clothing and found that to be very fulfilling. She delighted in raising her children, watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up, spending time with her friends, sewing, and anything outdoors—especially walking, working in her yard, and spending time at the lake.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, four brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by two sisters: Marjorie Smitley and Esther Lisenby, three children: daughters Carolyn Brady and Charlotte Bayliff, and son Steven Bayliff and his wife Betty. Mary has five grandchildren, Tammy Jones and husband Brad, Michelle Harper and husband Jim, Neil Brady and wife Tonya, Scott Bayliff and wife Amber, and Stephanie Bayliff. She also has eleven great-grandchildren: Brady and wife Jordanna, Baker, Sarah Rose, Joanna, Rachel, Tanner, Harper, Kaitlyn, Sheldon, Dakota, and Zachary. She was so cherished and will be greatly missed by all four generations.
Services for Mary will be at 10am on Friday January 26, 2018 at Glenstone Baptist Church, 413 S. Glenstone, Springfield, Missouri 65802, with interment to follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, 5234 W. State Highway EE, Springfield, Missouri 65802. A visitation will be held from 5pm to 7pm on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Klinger-Cope Family Funeral Home, 4500 S. Lone Pine Road, Springfield, Missouri 65804.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Glenstone Baptist Church Memorial Fund.
