Marvin, 63, passed Tuesday, July 5, 2016, in West Fork, Arkansas.
Marvin was born June 26, 1953 in Dallas, Texas, the son of Rev. Marvin H. Toliver and Fannie M. (Sirls) Toliver. He graduated from Central High School in 1971 and continued his education by graduating from Drury College (now University) in 1975. He continued his quest for higher education with stints as a Dorm Assistant at both SMSU in Springfield and also CSMU in Columbia. We always joked that he was a "Professional Student". Marvin was Student Body Vice President at Central High School his senior year and was an integral part of Choir in High School, participating in numerous competitions and "Sing Outs" as well as being very prominent in Speech and Debate. He was also an Eagle Scout and spent many summers at the Arrowhead Boy Scout Camp.
Marvin retired from Arvest Mortgage Company (now Arvest Bank) Fayetteville, Arkansas, in 2014 after 18 years of service. He held positions of increasing responsibility as Mortgage Servicing Specialist, Mortgage Default Specialist, Senior Mortgage Default Specialist and Customer Outreach Specialist.
Marvin was brought up in the church with his dad being an African Methodist Episcopal Minister. He was also a devout Arkansas Razorback fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Maria L. Toliver.
Marvin was survived by his special friend, Tom Sebesta; brother Johnny M. Toliver (Sandra); sisters, Stephanie A. Mosley (William) and Leatha T. Williams (Todd) and a host of other relatives and friends. Marvin spent the last 18+ years in Fayetteville, Arkansas area and has a multitude of friends that he called family, too numerous to list. Visitation will be held a Klingner-Cope at Rivermonte Chapel, 4500 S. Lone Pine Ave., Springfield, MO 65804, on Friday July 15, 2016 from 1-2 P.M., with services to follow at 2 P.M..
