Marvin J. Bass, age 81, passed away in the early morning hours of Saturday, January 2, 2021. He was born July 12, 1939, to Claude and Alma (Yenecheck) Bass. He was a 1957 graduate of Strafford High School. He married Grace Walker on May 6, 1972 in Halltown, MO. He worked and retired as a machinist at Burlington Northern for 42 years from 1959 to 2001. Marvin was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family and serving others in any way he possibly could. He is preceded in death by his mother Alma, his father Claude, and his cousin, Dorothy. He is survived by his wife, Grace; a brother, George Bass and wife Kathy; a daughter, Lisa Todd and husband Darrin; a son, Tony Lewallen; and grandson, Justin Morris and wife Alisha. Family, friends, and others whose lives Marvin touched are invited for a visitation at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel (5234 W State Highway EE, Springfield, MO 65802) on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 1:00-2:00pm with a service to follow at 2:00pm in the funeral home.
