Marjorie Sims passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Cox South Hospital. She was born Friday March 9, 1923 in Hooker, Mo to Henry and Phena Rolufs.

But now it is time for me to say goodbye
For eventually we all have to die
I''m leaving many relatives and friends behind

But know that just to meet you was a pleasure to me
And many fond memories there are sure to be

She was married to Leonard Raymond Sims January 30, 1940, he was a Shriner and Marjorie was involved in various ladies groups. She was quite the poet and even had some of her work published. The poetry book she put together was something she was most proud of and received many compliments about it. She also rarely missed a day at the Meyer Fitness Center and made many friends there.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Leonard R. Sims; daughter Lenora Rae Sims; 3 brothers Thomas Rolufs, Carl Rolufs and Arthur Rolufs and 2 sisters Ava Griffith and Katie Zeigler.

She is survived by her daughter Linda Kay McCarthy and her husband Robert; son Thomas H. Sims and his ex wife Betty; 3 granddaughters Christie Clemmons and her husband Ben, Suzanne Richards and her husband Frank, Melanie Ladd and her husband Jeffery; 1 grandson John David Sims and his wife Amber; 6 great granddaughters Abbey Clemmons, Sarah Ladd, Taylor Watkins, Victoria Watkins, Madison Watkins and Stella Sims; 3 great grandsons Joshua Ladd, Jacob Sims and Thomas Everett Sims; Many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

A visitation will be held on Thursday July 17, 2013 at 6 pm to 7 pm. Funeral service will be July 18, 2013. at White Chapel 5234 W. State Hwy EE Springfield, MO at 10 a.m.
