Marilyn Jeanette Elkins "Jeannie" 75, passed away to be with our Lord and Savior on December 4, 2011 at Christian Health Care Center. Mom had fought a year long battle with cancer. She was born on August 21, 1936 in Springfield, MO to Ruby and Jean Campbell along with one sister Julia Campbell.
She is survived by her husband Marvil "Red" Elkins; 2 daughters, Dee Anne Kelley and Mary Jean Keller and her husband Chuck; sister Julia Campbell; six grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Joshua Kelley, Matthew Kelley and his wife Ashley, Jennifer Keller, Andrea Keller, twins, Ashley Kelley and Angela Browning and her husband Donald. She was blessed with six great grandchildren, three great grandsons and three great granddaughters.
Our mother loved her family very much and working in her garden as well as painting for a hobby.
The family would like to thank West Side Christian Health Care and St. John's Hospice for their loving care and support.
A visitation will be held Thursday, December 8, 2011 from 5 pm till 6 pm at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel, 5234 W State Hwy EE (Division), Springfield, MO. Service will be Friday, December 9, 2011 at 1 pm in the funeral home. Final resting place will be at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Springfield, MO.
