Marie Eleanor Brainard, 98, passed from this life on March 2, 2014 at the home of her daughter, Gail.

Marie was born March 28, 1915 to Oliver and Anna Zumstein. She was united in marriage to Charles Buckley Brainard on November 17, 1934. They enjoyed 54 years of marriage before his death in 1988.

Marie was an active member of the Methodist Church for many years, using the beautiful gift of her soprano voice to praise God. During her life, she enjoyed sewing, quilting, knitting, crocheting and ceramics; her family will have lasting memories of her talents. Always a wise, loving and generous person, Marie often said, "You can''t spend other people''s time or money."

Those left behind to celebrate her life are three daughters; Gail Langdon (Robert) of Springfield, Mo, Bonnie Rapp and her husband Ches of Silver City, NM and Pamela Hrajnoha (Steve) of Skokie, IL; 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. Marie was blessed to have been surrounded by a great number of her loved ones in her final days.

No services will be held. Cremation is under the direction of Klingner-Cope at Rivermonte and inurnment will take place at a later date at Fairview Memorial Park, North Lake, IL.
