Marcia Lynn Burns, 61, of Springfield died Thursday, September 8, 2016. She was born in Springfield on September 23, 1954, the daughter of Alvia and Helen (Scritchfield) Brown.

Marcia was an energic woman who put a lot of energy into her home life. She had worked as a waitress in the past, as well as a cashier at Wal Mart. Marcia was a really good cook, who liked huge meals with family and friends. She was very domesticated and always wanted a clean house. Her dogs, Niese and Daisy Mae, were very important to her.

Marcia is survived by her daughter, Angela Maggard; her granddaughter, Jami Van Hooser, her brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Connie Brown; her nieces and nephews and many friends.

Marcia was preceded in death by her parents and her son, James Dale Burns.

Marcia's graveside funeral services will be at 2:30pm, Monday, September 12, 2016 at the Ash Grove Cemetery in Ash Grove, Missouri.
