Maela Beth Jarvis Collinwood passed away peacefully at her home in Stockton, Missouri on Saturday the 14th of May.
Born in 1940 in St. Johns, Arizona, Maela grew up in farm and ranch country. She attended Brigham Young University where she met and married her husband, Verl George Collinwood. She had 7 children and settled with her family in Willard, Missouri in 1968.
Maela''s life is characterized by her love and service to others. In addition to raising her own family she would help neighbors and friends, caring for them and supporting their needs. She was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she worked with children, youth and adults over the many years. She played the piano and organ for her congregation as well, and shared the love of music with her children.
Maela was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Loree Jarvis, by her husband Verl, and by an infant sister Dorothy and a granddaughter Sarah. She is survived by her 2 sisters and 3 brothers, 7 children, 30 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held in her honor on Wednesday May 18 at 10:30 am at the Willard LDS Church building located at 320 West Jackson Street, Willard, MO 65781. Maela will be laid to rest at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Online condolences may be made at www.klingnerfuneralhome.com
