M. Gwendolyn Roblin, 77, of Springfield, Missouri passed away Friday, April 24, 2015 after a valiant and courageous battle against cancer. Gwen was born December 17, 1937 in Wichita, Kansas to Marine Samuel and Melba Bly (Tjaden) Kohl. She married Bill Roblin and to this union were born three sons: Phil, Todd and Kyle.
Gwen worked for many years at Klinger-Cope Family Funeral Home in funeral and cemetery sales. Gwen was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and Elks Lodge #409. As an avid bridge player, she looked for any chance to play cards with her group. Gwen loved music and dancing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Kyle, a brother, Marine Kohl and a daughter-in-law, Kathy Roblin. Gwen is survived by her sons, Phil and Todd Roblin and his wife Andrea, a daughter-in-law, Gina Roblin; grandchildren Tjaden, Haley, Holly, Zachary and Angela Rose; and great grandchildren Noah, Ayden and Timber. Gwen was very social and had many close friends. The family would like to give special thanks to Pat Watson, a loyal and caring friend, who was by her side every step of the way. The family would also like to recognize the staff at Quail Creek Nursing Home for the love and care Gwen received during her stay.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 28th at twelve noon at Klinger-Cope Family Funeral Home Rivermonte Chapel with visitation from 10:30 to 12:00 prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Rivermonte Memorial Gardens.
Gwen was an inspiration to all who met her. The family has requested any donations made in Gwen''s honor be sent to the American Cancer Society, 3322 S Campbell, Springfield, MO 65807.
